Our community has always been very generous in donating gently used clothing, shoes, coats, hats and gloves for our clients. Most of the women who come to our shelter have run from a dangerous situation. Typically, they have nothing with them but the clothes on their backs. This is also true for their children. We take pride—in partnership with the community—in providing a little clothing “store” where our clients can “shop” for free. There they can find warm clothing, purses, books and outfits to wear to job interviews.

We also accept donations of furniture, household goods, small appliances, backpacks, gently used or new bedding such as sheets and blankets. Sometimes we need these donations for the shelter itself. But most of the time we need these supplies for women who are finally free of abuse and starting over in new housing. Imagine walking into your new apartment and you have absolutely nothing to fill it with. In your mind, walk room to room, making a list of all the things you’ll need to make this empty space your home. That list is what we need—along with so many other things.  Please bring your donations to Esperanza’s Support Center (3130 Rufina Street in Santa Fe).  We’ll be happy to provide you with a receipt.
