One of the many ways an abuser will try to control you—his victim—is by threatening to hurt your pets. Your abuser might even go as far as harming or killing your pet. The idea of losing a beloved furry friend is devastating to any animal lover. Remember that the threat of hurting your pet is a serious sign of abuse and violence. Call Esperanza and make a safety plan. The plan will include helping you keep your pet(s) safe.
